Abstract

The Eye Blink Controlled Virtual Keyboard is a system designed to provide a means of communication for individuals who have difficulty communicating due to disabilities or impaired motor function. The system utilizes eye blinks to operate a contactless virtual keyboard, which is captured through a camera and processed using OpenCV, Python Imaging Library, and Raspberry Pi software. The system detects the position of the eyelids and uses the information to choose letters in the virtual keyboard through eye blinks. The Raspberry Pi is used to process the data, and an SD card formatter is used to load the operating system. The system is controlled by an Arduino pro mini, which communicates with the PC via USB. The aim of this project is to help people with disabilities to communicate with high accuracy and exchange their thoughts and basic needs.
