Guidelines for Reviewers
-
Understand the Scope
- Read the instructions or evaluation criteria before starting.
- Ensure you know what the review is assessing (quality, relevance, originality, accuracy, performance, etc.).
-
Be Objective and Fair
- Base your evaluation on evidence, not personal preference.
- Avoid bias related to author identity, institution, gender, language, or cultural background.
-
Provide Constructive Feedback
- Highlight both strengths and weaknesses.
- Suggest concrete improvements when pointing out issues.
- Be specific and refer to lines, sections, or examples.
-
Be Clear and Structured
A good review typically includes:

- Accuracy and validity
- Methodology or process
- Clarity and organization
- Relevance and contribution
- Ethical standards
- Completeness and consistency
-
Be Professional and Respectful

-
Maintain Confidentiality
- Do not share or discuss the material you are reviewing.
- Do not use unpublished ideas or data for your own benefit.
-
Declare Conflicts of Interest
- If you cannot review impartially, disclose this immediately.
