AN EXPERIMENTAL COMPARISON OF COMPRESSIVE & SPLIT TENSILE STRENGTH IN SFRC AND GFRC
Abstract
This study investigates about compressive, split tensile strength between types of fiber-reinforced concrete: in particular SFRC and GFRC. Samples of various types of concrete were prepared using standard procedures for compressive and split tensile strength including fiber at different ratios. The results were compared to determine the effectiveness of each type of fiber reinforcement in improving the strength of concrete. The study found that both SFRC and GFRC demonstrated improved compressive and split tensile strength compared to plain concrete, with SFRC exhibiting higher compressive strength and GFRC showing better split tensile strength. The use of fiber reinforced can is an good way to improve the strength and durability of structures made of concrete as key product. this paper involves of Steel, Glass fibers and normal concrete cubes with zero content using M30 grade concrete. The Steel content taken as 0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1% and respectively Glass also taken 0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1% in 150mm x 150mm x150mm for compression strength and cylindrical specimens 150mm x 300 mm were prepared for split tensile strength. The laboratory tests which are performed in JBIET Civil Laboratory.
