Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused millions of deaths worldwide due to complications that affect various organs in the body, leading to a reduction in oxygen levels and severe health problems. Artificial intelligence (AI) technology can be used to solve real-world problems, such as detecting these complications through medical imaging scans. A Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) that uses AI could aid doctors in the automatic detection of COVID-19. The proposed AI model uses an advanced Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model with modified configurations to detect the disease and gain actionable knowledge from training samples. The model outperformed baseline models such as CNN and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), as well as manual and existing models, when tested on publicly available COVID-19 lung X-ray, brain MRI and PET, and kidney CT-scan datasets.
