PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF REACTIVE ROUTING PROTOCOLS IN MANETS
Abstract
Wireless mobile ad-hoc network technology is designed for the development of a network anywhere and anytime, defined by lack of infrastructure, clients in a network free to travel and organise themselves in an autonomous fashion, Several links and heterogeneous radio, which can function independently, may be used in communication. They require a dynamic routing protocol that is effective. Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol (AODV) and Dynamic Source Routing are two reactive routing protocols whose performance we examine in this study for MANETs (DSR). Throughput, Packet Loss, and Delay are three different network performance indicators that we compare the performance of AODV and DSR routing systems against. We build up and assess AODV and DSR protocol performance using network simulator NS2.
