INVESTIGATING THE ADAPTIVE SUPPLY CHAIN MODULE FOR THE INTEGRATION OF GOOGLE CLOUD AND SAP HANA TECHNOLOGIES
Abstract
— Recent years have seen a dramatic change in the retail industry, and with it, the norms and practices of supply chains (SC). A combination of these essential changes and global unrest led to severe upheaval and instability in SC. In order to maintain a competitive edge in the market, organisations began to adopt digital-transformation plans. These strategies involve integrating and analysing external data sources to detect disturbances in supply chain management. Adaptive supply chain management (A-SCM) in the cloud is an area that needs more research before any of these solutions can be developed. Supply chain optimisation opportunities are severely limited due to the rigidity of both strategy and operational processes. Consequently, we look into potential data sources and solution methodologies that can help with A-SCM practice development in this study. We have designed a hybrid architecture for A-SCM that incorporates many cloud-based technologies such as Google Cloud, SAP HANA, optimisation, and simulation, based on our research into cloud computing and literature reviews.
