AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE EFFECTS OF TELECOMMUTING EMPLOYEES IN THE CHENNAI DISTRICT’S IT SECTOR
Abstract
Competitors in the IT business were forced to transition to remote working in 2020 when the Indian government declared a state of emergency. There are advantages and disadvantages to working from home. The benefits include reduced commute time, financial savings, independence, reduced workplace loneliness, and childcare. The COVID 19 pandemic changed how employees perceived their work and went about living their lives. Lack of experience, a shortage of living space, a lack of guidance, and health problems are a few of the problems arising from this epidemic. Numerous aspects of IT become less cost-effective when working from home. The objectives of the study is to determine COVID-19's effects on Chennai City's IT workforce, to evaluate the calibre of work produced by IT personnel in COVID-19 and to researching the difficulties of working from home for IT professionals. In the current study, a variety of statistical tools, including the t-test, 'F' test, Multiple regression analysis, rotated component matrix, Factor Analysis by Principal Component Method, and One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), are used to analyze the primary data obtained from 150 IT employees in Chennai. he employees mentality differs through situation to situation as well from time to time. Work From Home creates more responsibility to employees for better job satisfaction leading to better productivity. Now a days most of the employees in the IT sectors are aware of the work from home which is preferred by them for the purpose of the time savings, cost reduction, reducing the stress, kids care, to reduce the health issues and to spend their more valuable time with their family members. This lead to the more job satisfaction and giving the best in their work for the betterment of the IT sectors.
