Abstract

The Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC) transmission mechanism may play a significant role in 5G wireless communication standards technology in the future. This method is on par with current 4G technologies such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). Some major downsides of OFDM are its poor energy efficiency, high mistake rate,high-power consumption, and limited user base. 5G networks will need to boost data transmission speeds by a factor of a thousand or more to deal with these issues. So, if you're building a prototype of the physical layer, FBMC is the way to go. In the FBMC, several sub carriers may be accommodated by a single filter. The filter bank multicarrier is an additional modulation technique that may be used to implement the multicarrier modulation approach. In multicarrier modulation, the information is spread out among several closely spaced carriers. This kind of signal waveform is known as multicarrier modulation. You may find a collection of carrier blocks on the circuit board organized into a filter bank. Performance characteristics such as data rate, bit error rate, mean square error, throughput, and peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) are calculated for each multicarrier in the Filter bank. Multicarrier filter banks seem to greatly improve performance, as shown by this research compared to other tradition methods.
