Relation of Academic Stress on Different Components in SWVI at Diverse Levels of Stress
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of academic stress on academic achievement in visually impaired pupils. The study's objectives were as follows: i) to determine the primary causes of stress in visually challenged students; ii) to compare the educational anxiety levels of male and female visually impaired learners; and iii) to investigate the effect of academic anxiety on academic performance in students with visual impairments. The Bisht Battery of Stress Scale was used to assess the level of stress experienced by the students, and midterm exam scores were utilized to assess academic achievement. A statistical analysis was performed to determine the impact of academic stress on academic attainment. The results suggest that highly stressed pupils scored lower on the exam, while those with minimal stress performed well. Academic stress and academic achievement have a strong negative association. In addition, female students reported higher levels of academic stress than male students.
