Abstract

Financial fraud has emerged as one of the most critical challenges affecting corporate governance and economic stability worldwide. Forensic accounting, which integrates accounting, auditing, and investigative skills, plays a pivotal role in detecting, preventing, and responding to fraudulent financial activities. This paper examines the significance of forensic accounting in mitigating financial fraud within organizations. It explores the methods and tools employed by forensic accountants, such as data analysis, internal control assessment, and digital forensics, to uncover irregularities in financial statements. The study also highlights the importance of forensic accounting in strengthening internal audit systems, enhancing transparency, and promoting ethical business practices. By identifying the early warning signs of fraud and ensuring accountability, forensic accounting contributes to improved financial reporting and investor confidence. The findings suggest that the incorporation of forensic accounting techniques into organizational frameworks is essential for effective fraud prevention and long-term financial sustainability.
