Abstract

Driver drowsiness stands as a significant factor contributing to traffic accidents, resulting in severe injuries and fatalities. This abstract explores the critical need for effective driver drowsiness control systems and examines various approaches developed to address this challenge. We delve into the limitations of traditional methods, such as subjective self-reporting, and highlight the advancements in objective, real-time detection techniques. These include physiological measures (e.g.,electroencephalography electrooculography, electrocardiography), behavioral cues (e.g., eye closure, yawning, head nodding), and vehicle-based parameters (e.g., steering wheel movements, lane departure). Furthermore, we discuss the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to enhance the accuracy and robustness of drowsiness detection. Finally, this abstract touches upon the potential of proactive intervention strategies, such as driver alerts and adaptive cruise control, to mitigate the risks associated with drowsy driving and pave the way for safer transportation systems. A driver drowsiness control system is developed to enhance vehicle safety by detecting and counteracting driver fatigue. The system integrates an eye blink sensor with real-time processing to monitor driver alertness. If drowsiness is detected, the system issues multi-modal alerts and can be integrated with vehicle control systems to initiate preventative measures. This integrated approach provides a comprehensive solution for minimizing the impact of driver drowsiness. Driver drowsiness is a significant cause of road accidents. To address this, we propose a driver drowsiness control system that employs an eye blink sensor to monitor the driver's state. The system detects drowsiness and provides alerts, aiming to prevent accidents. This technology offers a non-intrusive and effective way to enhance driver safety, with potential applications in both commercial and personal vehicles.
