Abstract

The fast development of the fifth-generation (5G) wireless communication systems requires the antenna designs that will be able to accommodate both high data rates, low latency, and stable connectivity in dense networks. The realization of a broad bandwidth at the same time reducing interference due to spectrum congestion and huge connectivity of devices is one of the most important issues in the 5G networks. In this paper, the design and analysis of a hybrid antenna array architecture with adaptive means at the antenna array to optimize bandwidth performance and minimize interference in 5G wireless communications is provided. The suggested system uses a combination of different antenna designs with adaptive beamforming and the interference suppression scheme to modify radiation patterns dynamically with the channel conditions. The evaluation performed through simulation proves that the hybrid antenna array has a better bandwidth utilization, a higher signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), and spatial selectivity than traditional antenna arrays. Although these benefits are present, various practical constraints like complexity in the system, cost of hardware and constraints on real-time adaptation continue to be a challenge to large scale implementation. Future directions in the research are to integrate artificial intelligence in order to be able to adjust the beams via real-time mechanisms and to miniaturize the antenna elements and to test them in the real world setting 5G and beyond-5G.
