Abstract

Linear Programming (LP) has become an effective mathematical optimization method that is extensively applied to solving a variety of decision-making and resource allocation problems in industries like manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and finance. The paper provides a detailed overview of the LP approaches, their effectiveness in maximizing the limited resources given the constraints. The paper discusses the classical LP models, methods of solutions and how they are applied in practice. It also looks into the improvements that have been made like integer programming and sensitivity analysis that make decisions to be more accurate. The results show that LP enhances efficiency, decreases costs of operations and aids strategic planning. Nevertheless, real-world constraints like model assumptions, data dependency, and the complexity of calculation in large scale problems are pointed out. The research directions in the future are integration with machine learning, real-time optimization, and hybrid intelligent systems to address the existing challenges as well as enhance adaptability in dynamic environments.
