Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been adopted in language teaching and learning, offering a new era of personalized, interactive and adaptive learning experiences for students. This research investigates how AI-driven tools can benefit engineering students' English language proficiency, a skill that is crucial for academic achievement and career growth. Learners improve vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through the use of applications that are powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), including intelligent tutoring systems, speech recognition software, grammar correction software, chatbots, virtual assistants, and automated writing evaluation software. The study underscores the ability of AI tools to foster autonomous learning, immediate feedback, student participation, and ongoing monitoring, which helps decrease communication obstacles and boost confidence among engineering students. The research emphasizes the role AI tools play in autonomous learning, on-the-spot feedback, learner engagement, and constant assessment, minimizing communication barriers and enhancing confidence among engineering students. Moreover, the research addresses the difficulties of technological accessibility, digital literacy, and ethical issues, highlighting the need to incorporate AI-based language learning approaches into engineering education. The results indicate that AI-enhancing learning environments play a crucial role in enhancing the English language proficiency, communication ability, and employability skills of engineering graduates in the present digital era.
