Abstract

This paper presents the design and simulation of a Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System integrated with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and a three-phase inverter using MATLAB/Simulink [1]. The proposed system aims to improve solar energy conversion efficiency and provide reliable power transfer to the utility grid. A solar PV array is used as the primary energy source, while the Perturb and Observe (P&O) MPPT algorithm is implemented to extract maximum available power under varying irradiance and temperature conditions [2]. A DC-DC boost converter is employed to regulate and increase the output voltage of the PV array. The regulated DC voltage is converted into AC power using a three-phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) controlled through Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques [3]. An LC filter is used to minimize harmonics and improve power quality before grid integration. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system provides effective maximum power tracking, stable voltage regulation, reduced harmonic distortion, and efficient grid synchronization [4]. The developed system offers a reliable and environmentally friendly solution for renewable energy applications and smart grid systems.
