Abstract

This paper presents an IoT Based Home Automation System using ESP32 and MIT App Inventor for remote monitoring and control of household appliances. The system uses Wi-Fi communication and Firebase Realtime Database to control devices such as lights, fans, and other electrical appliances through a mobile application developed using MIT App Inventor [2]. The ESP32 microcontroller acts as the central controller and interfaces with relay modules for appliance switching operations. The proposed system provides real-time monitoring, low power consumption, user-friendly operation, and secure remote access. It also supports manual control during internet failure for uninterrupted appliance operation. The system is cost-effective, easy to install, and suitable for smart home applications. This work is developed by taking reference from the paper “Home Automation System Using ESP32 and Firebase” [1] and other IoT-based smart automation studies [3], [4].
